Vancouver Salmon Fishing Report September 9

Well there wasn't really too much to get excited about over the past week. The Fraser River bound red Chinooks must have made a beeline up the river as we had hit and miss days. We even went over across the Straight to Gabriola Island and managed to find some bottom fish, prawns and one nice 20 lb white Chinook. The Capilano River is starting to show some action as the white Chinooks are starting to return. What I am getting excited about is that the large size white Chinooks should be showing up at the Sandheads area. Looking back at previous years catch records, mid to late September always produces 20-40+lb fish. Depending on the weather and tides, we run to either the Capilano or to Sandheads and T10. Let's Go Fishing!
