Captain Ivan Chu

Ivan has been guiding in the Vancouver waters, BC Central Coast and the Haida Gwaii since 2001.  He honed his fishing skills during his childhood while growing up in Steveston and learning the craft from the commercial fishermen.  Ivan became an accomplished sports fisherman which naturally led to salt water guiding.  In 2012, the BC Government developed the “Certified Tidal Angling Guide” program as a red seal trade and he was one of the first saltwater guides to earn his Certification.  When fishing with Ivan, he goes the extra mile to teach and instruct how to catch fish by utilizing the best equipment and developing proper techniques to make your experience a lasting memory.

Ivan has the government required  SVOP, Med A3, Restricted Radio License and up to date Marine 1st Aid certifications. Ivan is a Westcoast Fishing Tackle crew member (prostaff) and enjoys using as well as the research and development of high quality fishing tackle and rods.

Ivan taught his 3 children to fish from an early age and now he enjoys teaching his grandchildren to fish as well.  Ivan welcomes children of any age to come fishing and tailors the day so that everyone has the most enjoyable adventure.
